Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Update
From the Washington State Department of Health and Northeast Tri County Health Department:
There have been a total of 1,533 cases reported statewide so far in 2024, compared to 61 cases reported by week 47 in 2023.
As of November 9, 2024, Northeast Tri County Health District reports 19 confirmed and probable cases of pertussis (whooping cough) in our region, primarily among school-aged children. This marks the first reported cases in over five years in the Tri County region.
