    Superintendent's Message

The passion that our staff has in Chewelah is second to none when it comes to educating every student in our school system. We truly have embraced and adopted every way there is to teach to give our students the best chance to succeed. Thanks go out to our community for your support and teamwork that it takes to be a successful educational community. Your continued support of our local levy makes up 12 percent of our budget. Our students have as varied a curriculum as you can find in larger districts. Not only do we offer solid core classes in Science, Technology, English and Math we offer a rich selection of CTE courses, art, drama and music. Our students also have the option of a blended curriculum that can include Home Link and online classes.

State Funding and Chewelah - McCleary Impact

Limitations are funding and sustaining says State Superintendent

“Your practical limitation on collective bargaining is your ability to fund compensation increases in the short-term AND your ability to sustain those increases.  Not every district will have an equal opportunity to provide compensation increases with double-digit percentages.” - Chris Reykdal, Superintendent of Public Instruction Full Statement –Click Here   WSSDA Statement - Click Here
